About.

I would imagine it makes a difference when you know a littl ebit about the person who will be helping you with your brand new website.

I'm a 20 year old college student, hopefully entering the 3rd year of UBC Commerce this coming fall with the aspirations of completing a marketing degree. I've had some great experience in the field, and I truly believe that my talents and passion fit the marketing profession much like a hand in a glove. I've worked in the marketing operations of two upstart organizations, one profit and one not for profit, in addition to having a wealth of experience in retail and other jobs.

I fell into web design almost by accident at first. I love to write in my spare time, and I figured a blog would be a great way to encourage that, so I went about learning some basic web design skills. Fortunately, that was at an early age (11 or 12), and I have overtime learned to hone my skills in both web design and graphic design. I have always had strong artistic talents, and I soon discovered that this would be a great way of channeling two of my existing passions, allowing me to be both creative and expressive at the same time.

In 2003, I had just finished high school, taken a great trip to my home country of Sri Lanka, and had returned a few days prior to my 18th birthday. I realized that I needed not only a part time job, but a way of getting some sort of steady income. Since I would be a full time student, I figured I need a job that I could do during my spare time, but I couldn't figure out what kind of job that would be. At that time, I just happened to know someone who needed a website done for a business proposal. I got to work, and we got negotiated a fee. That website served as a referral to someone else, and just like that, I found that job I was looking for.

I've always been working on smaller projects, and that's why I will continue to do. If a project seems too complex, or I feel that someone else could do the job better (things like database integration and dynamic code are just as foreign to me as they are to you), I will flat out tell you to seek help elsewhere. If you need a simplistic website that would serve as a great source of additional advertising and informational leverage for your organization or personal project, you've come to the right place.
