Pricing.

As stated on every page of this website, personalization and customization is what my webdesign work is all about, and pricing is no exception. For the types of customers I work with, price is usually a sensitive issue, and I am very well aware of that.

I do not put numbers or price quotes on this website, rather, all I can really do is explain how the pricing system works. How does a standard rate reflect the customization and personalization that you need? If it's a small website, you should not have to overpay just to cover imaginary overhead costs.

1. The website itself has two components - an overall price, and a deposit.

The overall price is how much the website will cost, without updates. This price captures the all of the web design elements, the graphics, and the intellectual property behind the designs. This price will be reflected by the complexity, breadth, and depth of the website, which is why I cannot simply state a base price on this website. Some people may require a very basic website, with nothing more than a few lines of pre-written text with a company logo, which would be priced significantly lower than a website that perhaps requires extensive graphic design and original content.

What will happen after you e-mail me is the pre-production work. We will talk about what you want, what you need, and what the overall website should look. The pre-production work will also depend on the complexity of the work, but a concept will be created. At that moment, a non-refundable deposit will be put forth. You have the right to order minor changes as to your liking, and once the website has been completely finished, that is when you will pay the full price.

2. Maintenance

Some people have some decent html skills, or know how to update their website via Frontpage or through another medium, but may not know much about design. Hey, we all know how to write a letter, but do we all know how to create professional looking personalized stationary? Maybe not. If you don't want maintenance, that's fine, but if you do, there are two options.

Some people may need a simple website update every few months, perhaps for a restaurant that changes its menu items on a seasonal or annual basis. Honestly, from a webdesigner point of view, that is usually not a complex process, and the price of that update will probably be reflective of that.

Some people require constant maintenance. They need constant updates for news and other postings that occur on a monthly, weekly, or even daily basis. Depending on the types of updates, a price quota will be drawn up, which will be priced higher than sporadic updates due to the amount of time and work involved.
